So we all KNOW how much I love music and that there is a WHOLE LONG list of artists that I truly love....
But this summer there are a few that are standing out to me...
I am not going to go into all of them...but ONE group in particular who I have LOVED since their Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik days....
and that group ladies and gentlemen:
OutKast
They are bringing it...they got the movie, the new music...and I am ready and waiting...
There new single from the Idlewild CD/soundtrack (since its named after the movie and comes out the same week I think of it as a soundtrack to the movie)...
Morris Brown ROCKS to me....I mean it really just ROCKS...I love the hook, the production, the rap...I just am really feeling this song....and I really think that the video is cute...Bryan Barber does it again...I am feelin it but you be the judge
This just really gets me HYPED up for the movie...its going to be crazy....
So the movie a MUST see....
the Soundtrack a MUST purchase...
YES that sums it up pretty much...

I have to admit that I haven't been able to hear the song, nor have I seen any of the previews for the movie, but I am anxious to check it out when I get back in the States. I'm with you on Outkast though. I remember buying the first CD in '94 and I have bought everyone since then. Even though Dre has taken it to the edge every now and then, you can't help but notice the talent that each of them possess.
I see that you like "The Coldest Winter Ever." I had an ex-girlfriend that thought it would be tight if we read that book together. I thought it was corny at first, reading it to each other, and waiting for one to come home before we continued on but I thoght it was good as hell. I think Sista Souljah wrote that??? Pretty good. Good post.

Yeah I am an OutKast Head fo real....I can't wait to see the movie and get the soundtrack...hopefully you know BOTH will live up to the hype!
Coldest Winter Ever was the BOMB...I had heard about it being made into a movie...but I guess it didn't come to pass...that's interesting about the way that you read it...doing little things like that make a relationship fun don't you think?

Thank you so much for posting this because I haven't seen anything on Outkast for a minute and I was just thinking about them when I watched ATL this weekend (which is a very good movie by the way). Both Andre and Antwan are GREAT actors, and I'm very happy to see them moving to the big screen. I wish them ALL the success in the entire world!
And that video!!!! That song!!!! "Hey Baby!" WOW! It just made me smile all the way through. It was like it warmed me up or something! I heart it! Who's the dude that's singing? He's really cute!
There's NO ONE like Outkast. They're the bomb. =)
The dude is Scar one of the new artist on Dre's Purple Ribbon Label...I like his voice...
I truly enjoyed ATL as well...I need to buy that and Roll Bounce Fo Real!
They are both just talented brothers....so I agree its really good to see them doing their OWN thing but still do their THANG together as well...it gives young dudes from both ends of the spectrum something to look at...
Like its ok to be different like 3000, DO YOU...as long as its positive OR you can still be cool like Dre and be smart and make that money the right way....
And I listen to this song EVERY day! It makes me smile inside and out!
