The meeting

Have you ever met someone and thought to yourself, man this is it...this might be what its really all about...well for me that's what happened...I met the guy, THE guy, or so I thought...time was in the way and I had to get to Miami and just sit back and enjoy myself with my peoples...we spent as much time as we could together, including Christmas...talking, laughing, joking...

It was all so surreal and good...pure foundation of a friendship, but there was just one catch...we are just alike...maybe too alike for his liking...maybe for me too...

It was a great moment though, but I can honestly say it, as in everything in my life, taught me a lesson....what that lesson is, I am not really sure yet, but one I know...

No, I know what the lesson was, that just because YOU are a GOOD person and he is a GOOD person, doesn't mean that it will work...sometimes it just doesn't...and that's really ok...another lesson I learned was to just let go...if someone wants to find fault or flaw in you, there is nothing that you can do about it...I mean if you honestly have some serious issues to look at then you do that...but if someone WANTS to find flaws then what can you do...

If someone wants to walk away from you, let them go...let them walk...its not going to be beneficial for you to beg them to stay...its just not meant to be...you know that saying some folks are for a reason, season or lifetime...

Well our meeting was definitely a reason, it let me know that I still have feelings, and I still believe in relationships and the possiblties of love...and that in itself makes meeting you worth while...

So Thank you for that...

Peace!

"No, I know what the lesson was, that just because YOU are a GOOD person and he is a GOOD person, doesn't mean that it will work." I learned that one the hard way.

And I have definitely met someone and felt the same way you described in the first paragraph. But the reciprocation of that feeling trumps that feeling by leaps and bounds.

So I ask...How Does THAT [IT] feel? Because when you know the answer to this question, you have found true love

;-)

PS - How do you go from a six-pack to a keg can?

great post! a friend and i have been having this very same discussion and it's true; so very true. there is so much that can be given and taken when people meet and yes, there's a lesson in it all whether it's long or short term. people finding flaws in you will always happen and you're right, there's nothing you can do about it. it's not your issue, it's theirs.

life is a series of events and we just have to accept them as they come.

@mikesee-yea if the feeling is not reciprocated OR if the feeling is NOT put out there, OR if the person is just determined to NOT see YOU for who you are, then what can you do...it just doesn't work, and you know what its OK...I would rather it NOT work NOW, than it NOT work 10 months from now...so as always Jehovah GOD is on that look out for me....

@blu-YES life is just a series of events, and how you take those events and learn from them and move on is what will make or break you...and I REFUSE to be broken in 2007! I had a little moment don't get me wrong, but I had to step and say to myself, "why are you tripping...GOD has brought you THIS far" Man like I told my mother last night, when you have faith in GOD that everything will work out, you are just a happier person, stuff comes your way, and you just deal with it because you KNOW that he has your life in HIS hands, and I would MUCH rather my life, including my LOVE LIFE be in HIS hands instead of mines...

so life moves on, the world keeps turning, and I keep right on growing...Let's get it

I know exactly what you mean...you live and you learn and it's all about recognizing what you needed to learn from that encounter...perhaps all of that was needed to prepare you for the "the one"...good post!

Sometimes they might not be the one for u or it might not be in teh cards..I always felt that somebody coudl be RIGHT and a GOOD person but not RIGHT for me and instead of ruining hte friendship we have chose not to pursue it anymore. Besides your s/o and yourself are supposed to be opposites. u wouldnt wanna date your TWIN would u?

@d715-Thanks! you do have to let GOD work it out...not your girls, not your momma, but GOD because in the end its really all about what GOD wants for you...

@honey-yea GOD is preparing me for something WAY bigger than I would ever think so you just never know...

@negropino-for me I do want someone that has some differences, but I like someone who is like me in that we share the same interests, music, dancing, eating...that type of thing..but that's just me...

I especially like "...if someone want to walk, let them walk..." 'tis very profound.
True, because we are both good doesn't mean we're meant for one another. But, our paths just might have crossed each other so that through our relationship we might better each other.
A very nice one there.
